Tareen Development Partners (TDP) was founded in 2021 with a single mission: to build structures with enduring value and the potential to be timeless. Our team of creative professionals leads each project with a combined 30+ years of experience.

 

In 2021, Basir Tareen and long-time real-estate expert Jim LaValle founded Tareen Development Partners (TDP), a real estate development firm specializing in land acquisition, property leasing, building design, and commercial real estate development.

 

We’ve served the Twin Cities area’s growing need for new property and real estate projects through impressive integrity, excellent customer service, and a commitment to delivering results with the highest quality standards.

Basir Tareen

CEO & Owner

Basir Tareen is a urologist, professional real estate investor, and developer. He owns and manages over a dozen commercial and residential buildings in the twin cities. He recently led a group that developed the Roseville Health building – a 40,000-square-foot medical office with an adjacent 120+ unit apartment building. He enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife, Dr. Mohiba Tareen, and their five beautiful children.

Jim LaValle

VP of Development

With more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate development, construction, project management, real estate finance, marketing, operations, and sales, Jim LaValle's expertise enhances communities with a built environment. Jim has an unwavering commitment to delivering award-winning developments that cater to the unique neighborhoods they are located. Cheryl Davis

CFO

Cheryl Davis owned an accounting/consulting firm, Business Solutions, Inc., for 28 years before joining TDP. Cheryl's client base focused on construction, with projects ranging from land development, commercial construction, and buildouts to residential new construction and remodeling. Cheryl has extensive experience in financing, sworn statement generation, and the build process. She and her husband have two grown children and are filling their empty-nest phase with travel and boating.

Andy Haines

VP of Affordable Housing

Andrew Haines is an experienced affordable housing developer with over 40 projects developed under his direction. He has raised over $500 million in equity and financing to develop urban, suburban, rural and workforce housing. Andrew has also served on the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh’s Advisory Council and was formative as long time Chair of the Pennsylvania Developers Council.

Pete Nelson

VP of Affordable Housing

Pete Nelson brings over nine years of affordable housing experience with overseeing the acquisition and development of approximately 1,500 affordable units and over $200 million in total development cost. His recent development projects focused specifically on the preservation of section 8 housing by utilizing tax-exempt bond financing with 4% low-income housing tax credits.

Natalie Borer

Marketing Director

Natalie is a high-performing experienced marketing executive with proven success in strategic marketing, communications, business planning, new product development, and public relations. Expertise in branding, market segmentation, and growth strategy. Strong history of managing and developing customer relationships across various industries, including but not limited to Healthcare, Oil & Gas, Outdoor, Footwear, Real Estate Development, and extensive experience working with Global Fortune 500 Companies. Hands‐on experience in external partner negotiations, contract development, and legal matters. Direct experience advising global marketing strategies that result in revenue and profit goals. An active and committed leader with expertise in building, coaching, and driving teams. Specialties include: -Strategic Marketing -Business Planning -New Product Development & Product Launches -Business Development -Market Insights & Analysis -Foreign Language (Chinese & German Proficiencies) Natalie spent several years living in and following her husband's professional hockey career in Europe and Asia. During that time she worked in marketing with key fortune 500 clients such as Honeywell. Back full-time in the United States, Natalie enjoys spending time at her cabin with her two young boys and husband, Casey.

Maria Knoll

Digital Strategist

Maria is a versatile digital marketing specialist with over five years of experience enhancing online presence for businesses in music, retail, healthcare, and real estate. She stays updated on the latest digital marketing strategies and possesses a diverse skill set, including copywriting, email marketing, content creation, and social media management. Her graphic design proficiency makes her a valuable addition to the Tareen Development Partners team.

Renelyn T. Ramirez

Executive Assistant

Renelyn has almost eight years of experience working as an administrative assistant, where her attention to detail shines through. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and having pursued additional studies in Tourism and Secretarial Services from The University of Manila, she brings a solid foundation to her roles. Since December 2023, she has been working as a Virtual Assistant, efficiently managing calendars, emails, bookkeeping, and various administrative tasks. Renelyn is skilled in using tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and project management platforms. Renelyn provides excellent support to the Tareen Development Partners team as our Executive Assistant.
